Sandwood Run the British 10K on July 10th 2011

A team of over 20 Sandwood employees from all areas of the company – senior management, tradesmen (and women), site staff, and the paper pushers in the office – have volunteered to run, walk, crawl the British 10K on Sunday 10th July to raise funds for a local charity.

The London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy, in Muswell Hill, offer services to families affected by cerebral palsy. This condition affects 1 in 400 births and is caused by an injury to the brain before, during or shortly after birth. The Centre provides services including one to one support for babies and toddlers, parent and child groups, a school for 3-11 year olds and holiday schemes for other children who cannot attend the Centre on a regular basis. In addition the centre run training courses and seminars for parents, education and health professionals on a whole range of topics relating to cerebral palsy and Conduction Education – this is an active approach of guided learning, developed specifically for children with cerebral palsy.

The Centre’s aim is to enable each child to develop their physical, intellectual and social abilities to the fullest extent possible, so they can be as independent as possible, now and in the future.

Please support Sandwood’s efforts in raising much needed funds for this wonderful little charity, by visiting www.justgiving.com/sandwoodconstruction, where donations are accepted via credit/debit cards. If you prefer to donate via cheque, please make the cheque payable to The London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy and send it to Sandwood’s office at 155 Tottenham Lane, London N8 9BT.

Sandwood have a policy of matching the amount any employee raises for charity and for the British 10K, the company will ensure each runner meets the £300 target per individual. To get everyone off to a good start, Gerry has sponsored each runner to the tune of £50, and Richard will contribute an additional £100 to every runner who runs the course in a faster time than he does.

Please join us in helping this charity. Thank you.
