Sustainable Communities Award 2006 |
Sandwood is proud to announce that Boatemah Walk on the Angell Town Estate in Brixton has been highly commended in the "Constructing Sustainable Communities" category of the 2006 Sustainable Communities Award.
This is awarded to projects that show:
- evidence of the responsible use and management of natural resources
- energy efficiency
- sustainable land use
- conservation of biodiversity
- sensitivity to long term environmental impacts
Boatemah Walk is the flagship building in Lambeth Housing’s award-winning, 10-year regeneration of the Angell Town area. It has been transformed into a place where people want to live and is also one of the most environmentally friendly developments in the country. Residents have been involved from start to finish, which has fostered a lasting pride in their community.
