Richard Garland BSc (ECON) ACMA |

After gaining an economics degree at Leicester University, Richard
obtained an ACMA Accounting Qualification while working for the Ford
Motor Company. After working for Ford in a number of marketing and
finance positions, he moved to ICL (International Computers Ltd) at
their head office in Putney, working in the Corporate Finance and
Treasury Departments. His involvement in the construction industry
started in the early 1980s while still at ICL, and has continued since
then.
At Sandwood, Richard
is the co-owner and Finance Director, responsible for IT and the
surveying areas of the business, as well as managing the Original
Features subsidiary. Richard
has led the company's progress towards collaboration and partnering
including the company Green House Project, and partnering agreements
with the Peabody Trust, Servite Houses, Origin Group and Community
Housing. He was instrumental in the company achieving and renewing the
Investors in People Standard.
His own recent training has included a distance learning Business Coaching Course from Newcastle University.
Outside work, Richard volunteers as the treasurer of the Enfield Racial Equality Council.

Gerry Lennon MCIOB, MBEng, MASI |

Gerry has been involved in the construction industry since leaving school, and started out as a trainee Site Manager with Fairclough Building in 1980. He progressed to General Foreman with a small building/development company before becoming involved in the establishment of Sandwood Construction in 1992. Gerry is the Construction Director at Sandwood and is responsible for operations on all company construction projects, particularly Health and Safety and Training.
Gerry was involved in Sandwood Construction becoming a chartered building company and establishing a training partnership with the CIOB, as well as establishing long term partnering agreements with our sub-contractors and suppliers.
Gerry is currently researching and implementing new and innovative products and systems of working, particularly in timber frame and modular bathrooms/kitchens.
Gerry is a member of the CITB North East London Training Group and has been asked to Chair the Employer's Forum for Barking College which he has accepted. He is also a committee member for the East Anglia Branch of the Association of Building Engineers. In 2007 he was appointed as a tutor for the NVQ Level 3 Site Supervisor course at Barking College.

Colin Russell BSc (Quantity Surveying) |
|
After gaining his degree from the University of the West of England, Colin spent the first six years of his career working as a quantity surveyor for three firms in the South East.
He then joined Walker Management Ltd in 1996 and worked as a Project Manager, Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyor and became a director of the company in 2001. Colin worked on numerous Social Housing projects, his favourite being the Raines Dairy development for the Peabody Trust – the UK’s first modular constructed shared ownership scheme; an innovative design on a restricted site next to a railway line.
Colin joined Sandwood as Commercial Director in November 2005.
He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Colin volunteers his time and advice to help the Huddleston Centre in Hackney, a centre for disabled young people.
